Design duo Xsenofemme will invite the audience to join them in a live negotiation process, which will ideally result in the signing of a contract, and the formalization of a sale.
Design exists because of a very elemental human need to satisfy a certain desire for beauty, a lust for forms, a pleasure derived from owning. Design fairs like Salone del Mobile, become places where designers sell themselves more than their objects, since objects alone are not enough anymore for the voracious audience. Ginevra Petrozzi (Rome, Italy) is an interdisciplinary designer and artist currently living and working in The Netherlands. She completed her MA in Social Design from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2021, for which she received a Cum Laude, Best Thesis Award, and won the Gijs Bakker Award 2021.
Her work explores contemporary issues around care, futurity and algorithmic governance. Through critical research, writing and creative production she aims to make space for other ideas and forms of intelligence, knowledge and wisdom, both human and non-human. Currently, she is exploring the possibilities of mysticism and the occult within the landscape of contemporary techno-politics. In this framework, she took the role of a “digital witch”, reclaiming the archetypal role of the sorceress as a healer, and as a political rebel.
She is currently a tutor in the MA Social Design Department at Design Academy Eindhoven and a resident at Jan Van Eyck Academie for the 2023-2024 fellowship.
Her work was exhibited internationally, including Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Het Hem, INDEX Braga Biennal, ADI Design Museum, MU Hybrid Art House, BASE Milano, World Design Embassies, amongst others.
